Propagation Modeller
A role exists for a scientist/engineer with experience of propagation modelling preferably related to the underwater environment to join a development project being undertaken for a MOD customer. You will be joining a team of highly technical multi-disciplined and enthusiastic engineers contributing to the development and installation of calibrated at-sea systems. You will work with and report to the project Acoustic Team Lead.
Must have:
- Experience of using acoustic or electromagnetic propagation models;
- Experience of underwater acoustics.
- Degree in engineering, a physics based pure science or allied subject;
- Demonstrable ability to use and configure propagation models;
- Drive and determination;
- A proactive and dynamic professional attitude to internal and external customers
- Excellent analytical skills and judgment;
- Pragmatic and reasonable;
- Good problem solving abilities;
- Ability to work under time and budgetary pressures;
- Open, honest and enthusiastic team member;
Desirable
- Background in undertaking measurements in a maritime environment;
- Experience of at-sea testing and experimentation;
- Experience of MATLAB;
- Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing techniques;
- Experience of calibrating acoustic system.
