Financial Accountant - Financial Controller

Description

My client, a leading global bank, is looking for a an experience financial accountant to assist in the external reporting of the group's financial accounts. The desired individual will have a strong understanding of financial reporting and developments within the accounting and regulatory environment.

Role responsibilities

• To collect complex financial information from multiple sites throughout the world and prepare consolidated results for the bank for reporting to Senior Executive Management and externally.
• To prepare reports for Senior Management and to provide consolidated financial information, analysis and commentary that fully describes and explains the financial performance of the Group.
• Assist in driving financial reporting process improvements delivering efficiency gains.
• Provide support and advice as required relating to financial reporting to the organisations finance teams throughout the Group.
• Preparation of primary statements, notes and other disclosures for the Annual Report & Accounts and Interim Report
• Preparation of Monthly management information
• Preparation or review of ad hoc information, reports, and presentations
• Implementation of new reporting requirements and controls to the Group reporting process.

Requirements

• Recognised professional accountancy qualification is essential
• Some experience of Saracen/Hyperion is desirable
• Some experience of Project/Process redesign or similar is desirable
• An awareness of developments in accounting and regulatory environment
• Strong spreadsheet skills
• Ability to deal with and analyse unstructured problems and queries and to question and challenge existing procedures.
• FINREP exposure would be an advantage
