I have an excellent opportunity for a Financial Controller to work for a major company based in Hertfordshire.

6 Month Contract

Key Responsibilities

*Project manage period end activities to ensure complete, accurate accounts and timely reporting of periodic results
*Identify potential accounting & control issues through thorough review of UK periodic accounts
*Ensure accounting for UK business complies with IFRS and proactively understand the impact of policy changes
*Manage a team of two responsible for preparing statutory accounts for UK entities and supporting period end close
*Work closely with System accountants and Group Finance to ensure financial control is maintained between systems
*Provide technical accounting support to wider UK finance team
*Own the relationship with external audit managers and coordinate the Year end/Half year audit programme of work.
*Work with Internal and External Auditors to close down know control issues
*Own the Financial Control and technical training agenda for UK Finance

Skills & Experience

*ACA qualified
*Strong understanding of IFRS;
*Technical financial system knowledge
*Logical thinker; independent and pro-active in nature
*Good at working and collaborating cross-functionally
