Commercial Officer
6 Month Contract
Up to £275 per day
London

Please note: Any candidate wishing to be considered for this role will be required to undergo full CTC security clearance upon offer.

My client, a leading public sector organisation, is seeking to recruit a skilled Commercial Officer to join their team onsite in London. As a Commercial Officer, you will be required to manage and coordinate impact assessments that need to be undertaken for each change request, ensuring these are recorded and filed as required. The ideal candidate will have wealth of commercial and contract experience within a public sector organisation.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

*Processing Change Request forms and Change Authorisation Notes. Taking ownership for the overall process and management for recording of this information.
*Keep track of all commercial records in accordance with the Programme's File Plan standards.
*Manage and coordinate impact assessments that need to be undertaken for each change request, ensuring these are recorded and filed as required.
*Catalogue and prepare evidence for any dispute resolution boards and or change management boards.
*Prepare financial costs for any works resulting from any change requests. Manage the recording of all necessary paperwork and communication lines that result from any works undertaken.
*Assist with the validation of any impact assessments of any change requests.
*Collate management information in relation to commercial procedures and produce, as required, monitoring reports and management information for upward reporting.
*Assisting with the development and implementation of contract management planning and risk management strategies.
*Responsible for sending reminders of key tasks and milestones to owners & chasing progress.
*Undertake any other duties pertinent to the successful outcomes of the Transition Support Team.

Key Knowledge and Skills

*Experience working in a commercial management environment, preferably on a major Government programme. Conversant with the government model form of contract and/or experience of various contract forms and conditions more generally.
*Good communication skills and ability to build strong relationships.
*Commercially astute, focused on the detail but with a strategic mind set and have knowledge of the key performance indicators.
*Experience of Contract Administration procedures
*Have the ability to validate or price up work as a result of change requests.
Experience of working in or with the public sector on PFI contracts.
