Supplier Compliance Specialist - Supply Chain, Procurement, Supplier Compliance

A Supplier Compliance Specialist with Supply Chain, Procurement, Supplier Compliance skills/experience is required to work on a ten month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Glasgow

Overview of the Supplier Compliance Specialist contract role

To manage all procurement/supply chain governance activities associated with a defined area. The role includes the development of procurement/supply chain strategies and plans, and the associated engagement and management of the supplier compliance model and other stakeholders to deliver project/business objectives.

  • Prepare Procurement/Supply Chain strategies to deliver effective supplier evaluation and approval processes
  • Effectively manage and develop existing in-house processes to ensure supplier compliance.
  • Identification of additional requirements for Naval Ships relating to Supplier Compliance
  • Manage out-sourced supplier compliance provider
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure their buy-in to proposed process improvements
  • Drive root cause analysis and lessons learned opportunities
  • Ensure 3rd party service reporting delivers the service and management reports that the business requires on time

Key skills required for the Supplier Compliance Specialist

  • Experience of working in a Procurement/Supply Chain environment
  • Detailed and solid understanding of supplier compliance and approval processes
  • Active support to the team's Safety Health and Environment activities
  • Manage risks and opportunities across the supplier compliance and approval work stream

Key Technical Skills

  • Experience of Procurement/Supply Chain Department
  • Experience of managing supplier compliance and approval models
  • Subject matter expert on Supplier Compliance
  • Experience of preparing Reports
  • Change management experience
  • Process analysis and improvement experience
  • Experience of Risk and Opportunity management
  • Understanding of change programmes
  • Working understanding of tool sets and IT
  • Detailed approach to data management and analysis

The role is based in Glasgow - Commutable from Kilmarnock, Paisley, Greenock, Stirling and Falkirk with excellent access from Edinburgh
