What Project Team? What do they do?
Responsible for managing a suite of DIO contracts delivering maintenance and minor new works for the US Visiting Forces at RAF Lakenheath.
Overall project objectives?
Manage USVF client-injected work orders from inception to completion of works.
Core responsibilities/objectives of this role
- Developing specifications from client-supplied statements of need.
- Liaising between client and contractors to advise and develop specifications.
- Scrutinizing contractors' measures to ensure compliance with specification and VFM.
- Raising orders on contractors.
- Supervising works ordered on contractors, carrying out variations where required.
- Arranging and chairing works progress meetings with stakeholders and contractors.
- Ensuring contractors' compliance with DIO contracts.
- Verifying contractors' claims for payment.
- Closing out works, ensuring works have been completed according to specification.
- Ensuring management chain is informed of all issues arising from problems with any of the above.
Previous experience - Essential and desirable:
- Previous experience as a M&E Technical Officer on client establishment is desirable.
- Experience of working with M&E contractors in a supervisory capacity is essential.
Specialist accreditations
HNC or equivalent in Building Services or Electrical Engineering (not electronics) is essential.
