  • This position is responsible for managing the cylinder fleet and coordinating all aspects of the empty cylinder return process with customers in order to facilitate timely and cost effective returns.
  • The Cylinder Asset Coordinator role is critical to the efficient utilization of the cylinder fleet and processing and shipment of customer orders and to the overall delivery reliability for the customer.
Principle Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the efficient utilization of the cylinder fleet to meet customer demands based on established guidelines, and plans for new cylinder purchases with the support of other functions Processes cylinder return information supplied by the Customer Care group and coordinates with carriers and customers to arrange for the return of empty cylinders
  • Keeps track of cylinders via SAP and ensures the accuracy of the cylinder reports, conducting required SAP transactions as necessary.
  • Generates reports used to identify customers with aged or excessive cylinder quantities according to established guidelines, and proactively contacts these customers to ensure timely cylinder returns
  • Arranges all transportation required for the efficient and timely return of cylinders from the customer
  • Completes all required shipping paperwork as required and supplies to the customer to facilitate the return process for the customer
  • Processes all related invoices/billing for cylinder returns, coordinating the returns with the shipment of full cylinders to maximize savings on freight costs.
  • Assists with the processing of cylinder heel returns and credits (when applicable) required to enter returned cylinders (empty) into available inventory to be tested/filled
  • Serves as the main point of contact for both internal and external customers for logistical/technical inquiries or issues related to cylinder returns
  • Works closely with Sales, Technical Service and the Site Logistics teams to enforce cylinder related business rules and coordinate/expedite returns to maximize the number of cylinders for shipment
  • Tracks and reports Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to cylinder returns and cylinder utilization effectiveness
  • Improve cylinder related processes and tracking systems

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience and knowledge of Supply Chain and/or Logistics functions
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
  • Clear and concise verbal communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work without supervision
  • Strong analytical and computer skills in SAP and MS Word/Excel
  • Manages change effectively and can deal with ambiguity
  • APICS Certification preferred
  • Customer interaction experience a plus
