Graduate Derivatives Analyst: World Leading Trading & Shipping Company Limited

World Leading Global Energy Trading Company has an exciting opportunity for a Derivatives Analyst to join their Trade Accounting and Settlements team. This is an excellent "foot in the door" opportunity and offers the chance to liaise and network with Stakeholders within the company.

The Trade Accounting and Settlements Team support the Global Derivatives Trading organisation. Its core responsibilities are to ensure all Derivatives Trading Financial Information is reported accurately and to ensure all OTC settlements are performed on a timely basis.

The Derivatives Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the operational requirements for EU regulation on Portfolio Reconciliation and Dispute Resolution are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Senior Trade Accountant
  • Monitoring OTC trading activity and positions.
  • Liaising with external counterparties
  • Ensuring trade discrepancies are identified and resolved.
  • Support new business, delivering speed to market combined with robust controls.
  • Identifying and implementing system improvements
  • Additionally the role will require close liaison with the relevant internal business teams
  • Assist global teams with extraterritorial regulations (Dodd Frank, MAS).
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis for the EU Regulation Team to meet the demand of the ever evolving regulation scene.

About you:

  • Strong communications skills including the ability to relate concepts clearly when dealing with senior stakeholders and management.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with external counterparties
  • The ability to work quickly and accurately on a variety of tasks, often under pressure and with a minimum of supervision
  • Excellent team working ethic.
  • High level of numeracy
  • An understanding of OTC derivatives instruments would be beneficial although training can be offered in this area.

This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
