Finance Controller: Holdings & Treasury: World Leading Global Energy Oil Company

World Leading Global Energy Oil Company has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Controller who can take the role of Legal Entity Controller to join their Holdings & Treasury (HaT) team of professional Accountants in Central London with around five years post-qualification experience, having worked with one of the larger Accountancy firms with a high profile.

This role is a maternity leave cover; however it is a fantastic opportunity to join a face-paced and challenging environment which focuses on constant improvement, personal ownership, professional development, efficiency and impact on the bottom line.

Responsibilities:

- Overall responsibility for ensuring efficient and tightly controlled quarterly Group reporting and annual statutory reporting processes are in place
- Managing relationships with key contacts
- Working closely with the Group treasury, tax and legal functions to ensure the relevant company assets are managed and hedged
- Ensuring the correct accounting treatment is applied to holding company and related transactions, including interest and exchange exposures, distributable reserves, liquidity, tax matters, acquisitions, disposals and other restructuring transactions.
- Providing accounting advice and guidance to project teams on a variety of transactions to ensure that all items are appropriately reported and understood
- Driving ongoing process improvement to ensure that the best use of the systems available
- Contributing to ad hoc projects, in line with business needs and efficiency objectives, and influencing stakeholders of all levels across the world

About you:

- Training with one of the larger Accountancy practices.
- Excellent IFRS technical accounting expertise.
- The ability to generate innovative solutions to varied and unique accounting issues and effectively communicate advice.
- An excellent overview of finance allowing you to take the lead in ensuring individual entity and group needs are met.

This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
