Position: Site Engineer
Employment Type: Contract role
Location: Madrid, Spain

Preferred skill: DC hands and feet candidate with Desktop and Printer troubleshooting skills

local candidates with local language skills are required for both the locations.

General Description:

Site Engineer: The site engineer role is to provide a single point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within the organization's desktop computing environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment (including but not limited to PC, terminals, printers and scanners) to ensure optimal Workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via remote access) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required. He should be responsible, punctual and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. It is also important to display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills and strictly adhere to Data Centre safety and best practices

Responsibilities:
Mean time to repair - Onsite analysis, diagnosis and resolution of desktop problems for end users.
Collaborate with 3rd level support to prevent system downtime.
Assist in user/hardware movement and branch relocations.
Software/hardware/network troubleshooting
Ensure Customer satisfaction.
Experience on ticketing tools for incidents and services requests
Responsible for installation and maintenance of Data Center infrastructure.
Installation of various forms of cabling such as CAT5/6, Fiber, COAX and T1s.
Remote hands support during business hours and on call on off business hours ie, onsite support Monday through Friday with an 8 hour work day. Overtime and weekend work might be required.
Installations of collocation and managed hosting infrastructure: (Racking and Un-Racking of Servers and Network Devices)
Install and testing of CAT5/6 copper cabling through crimping, punch downs, etc.
Install and testing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber cabling
Cable dressing and management
Labelling the Devices, preparing DC Floor Layout Plan, preparing the Rack Elevation
Maintaining the DC Neat and Clean at all times
Knowledge of proper use of trade hand and power tools
Basic observation and reporting on the environment in the data center such as alarm identification. Daily DC Walkthrough
Troubleshooting of network cabling

Technical Expertise:
Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems and standards.
Ability to operate tools, components and peripheral accessories.
Microsoft Desktop Support Technician an advantage
A+ and N+ experience preferred
Software and Hardware Troubleshooting
Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows experience
Manage Routers, Switches and Firewall devices with assistance
Microsoft Office 2007, Office 2010 support

Qualification:
Bachelor's degree +.
2-3 years Data Center experience
Must have PC skills and be well versed in Microsoft Windows and Office applications
Experience working in a large or enterprise Data Centre environment
Physically fit for to work in Data Centre environment
