Description

Our client, a leading European multi-disciplined consultancy, is currently seeking a Senior Consultant to join the team in their Edinburgh office. This role would be ideal for someone who is keen to make the role their own and for someone who has an interest in building a career with a company



Duties and responsibilities of the position.



- To provide support and direction to planning and permit applications for renewable energy schemes as well as assist other members of the team to complete work from internal and external clients.

- Assist in preparation and checking of reports for issue to clients and regulators.

- Liaise with clients to deliver current and new projects.

- Communicate with regulators to ensure projects are delivered to the desired standards and outcomes.

- Manage and priorities workloads

- Communicate with internal departments and sub-consultancies to ensure work is delivered on time.

- Assist in overall project administration



Experience



- Working knowledge of current environmental planning and permitting regulations and codes of practice, including Development Consent Orders (DCO), Town and Country Planning Act (TCPA), ‘Planning practice guidance for renewable and low carbon energy’

- Knowledge of renewable energy developments (solar, onshore wind, hydro and biomass) and terminology is essential.

- Experience in modelling packages such as WindPRO.

- Understanding of a range of technical environmental disciplines and understanding of a variety of project consent routes would be an advantage.

- Working experience of coordinating and managing EIAs and SEAs including the preparation of Scoping Reports, option/feasibility studies, preparing assessment chapters.

- Competent in standard office computer packages (Word, Excel etc)



Desired Membership and Qualifications



- Membership of appropriate professional organisation.

- Degree in relevant subject.

- Chartered Status or working towards relevant professional membership.

- Experience working in relevant field.
