Security Information & Event Management Project Manager
Location: Sacramento, CA
Contract terms: W-2/Corp to Corp/1099
Contract duration: 4months + (strong possibility of extension)
Project Details:
- Client's Technology Innovation Strategic Services (TISS) Division has requested assistance to provide Project Management services in support of the Information Security Roadmap Program - Security Information and Event Management project. The project manager may also provide project management support for opportunity projects if identified during the contract engagement.
- The Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) project under the Security Roadmap Program (SRP) will build, deploy, and test an enterprise logging solution needed to support business transactions and security/fraud investigations. The initiative will introduce tools and processes and provide the ability to capture, analyze and alert on data from transactions, such as: which systems are accessed, for how long, by whom, from where, etc. The SIEM project will help to introduce greater efficiencies in the information environment, including: increased security, reporting, alerting, and better visibility into how systems are performing.
- The Project Manager will manage this project as part of the Information Security Roadmap Program following the Project Management Methodology and phased approach. The Project Manager will work in close collaboration with the Information Security Roadmap Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager to ensure the project meets and realizes the Program's common goals, objectives, and benefits.
Required Skills:
- PMP Certification
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to present/communicate to audiences that are comprised of Senior Level Executives and/or Senior Management.
Desired Skills:
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Four (4) years security industry experience
- Demonstrated experience managing security related projects
- Experience with building security and auditing logging requirements
- Experience with Security Information and Event Monitoring
- Experience with system log creation, aggregation, analysis, and preservation
- Security certification a plus (such as CISSP)
- Knowledge of the technical environment
