The Client
Our client, a large infrastructure organisation, is looking to hire an interim procurement professional for a period of 6 months to help lead and manage the development and implementation of a procurement governance and assurance framework to cover policy, process, procedures and systems.
The Interim Assignment
The interim will be expected to support the ongoing management of a robust, auditable and transparent procurement governance and assurance framework while providing ongoing operational support, guidance and subject matter expertise at key stages of the procurement process. The role will also support the delivery of training to enhance capability across the Procurement team and across the business, monitor UK Government initiatives and policies and EU Public Sector Procurement regulations to ensure the organisation is current and compliant in all procurement-related activity. Finally the interim will be required to provide timely and accurate reporting in accordance with programme governance.
The Interim Manager
Applicants must have excellent knowledge of applicable EU and UK procurement legislation, a demonstrable track record of developing or working within procurement governance structures. Preference will be given to applicants with an awareness of government initiatives and policies and a track record of line management responsibilities include defining measurable goals to achieve deliverables and ongoing performance/coaching of individuals. Applicants will also have a proven track record of procurement in the set-up and mobilisation stage of UK publicly-funded infrastructure projects and a track record of procuring services through different routes depending on value including use of OJEU processes and government frameworks.
