Operational Risk and Controls - 1st line of Defence/Front Office
My client, a Tier 1 Investment Bank, is looking for a Risk and Controls specialist to join on a contract basis. The Risk and Control Team assists with implementation of the many, and growing, pool of Risk and Control activities across the Investment Bank.
Key responsibilities:
- Standardize Governance framework within the businesses ensuring consistency, best practices and completeness across all products and regions
- Improve the current MIS/Tracking Dashboards to ensure increased transparency and accountability of open items
- Lead the development and implementation of the annual Risk & Control Self Assessments (RCSA)
- Facilitate Incidents (Risk Events)/Lessons Learned Governance and the Implementation of new group policies
- Standardize the Resolution and Recovery Planning process ensuring consistency, best practices and completeness
- Manage SIF Reviews for departmental CEO
- Produce and Manage Escalation Reporting
- Oversee and improve the Risk Tolerance framework, ensuring consistency and robust change management controls
- Support the implementation and management of the Supervisors Framework
- Produce and track business performance MI across training requirements, action resolution, and risk & control deliverables
- Support Regulatory deliverables
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree
- Good knowledge of either Equity or Credit products would be beneficial
- Significant and proven experience working within an Investment Bank
- Proven experience in governance, risk and control management, preferably within Markets
- Strong knowledge of the Markets business, relationships and the ability to leverage these effectively
- Previous experience managing key senior internal and external stakeholders
