Description

Tasks
- Understand the services provided by the sector, help customers use them, propose improvements.
- Review non-standard requests from customers, analyse them and propose solutions.
- Follow IT operations, help coordinate non-standard activities, identify and escalate issues when necessary.
- Manage infrastructure capacity: calculation of capacity usage, needs.
- Generic ad-hoc reporting (write incident reports, provide statistics, verify support coverage).
This is not a direct hands-on position, system administration tasks are performed by other teams.
Skills
- Broad understanding of IT datacenter infrastructure (operating systems, virtualisation, Servers, storage, SAN, networking).
- Experience in IT datacenter operations. Past systems administration experience is an asset.
- Excellent technical knowledge of some of the main technologies involved: Linux, VMware, Windows, Solaris.
- Very good communicator, able to discuss on a technical level with technicians, and on a management level with managers.
- Responsible and reliable, with initiative, able to take ownership of files and drive them forward.
- Methodical, good planner, attentive to detail.
