I looking to hire "Compliance Officer/Senior Auditor" for one of our government client location based in Birmingham. Role Spec below.

Job Title: Compliance Officer/Senior Auditor

Location: Birmingham

Contract: 4 months (with possible extension)

Rate: £330 per day

Essential Experience:

COMPETENCY 1, MAKING EFFECTIVE DECISIONS:

  • Able to use information to assess compliance with established rules and reach a decision or recommendation, even if they prove difficult or unpopular.
  • Identify a range of relevant and credible information sources.
  • Recognise patterns and trends in a wide range of evidence/data and draw key conclusions.

COMPETENCY 2, COLLABORATING AND PARTNERING:

  • Able to build and maintain working relationships with others (internally and externally) to support the delivery of business outcomes, building and maintaining positive professional relationships.
  • Able to work as part of a Team, sharing knowledge and information and working with enthusiasm to meet Team goals.

COMPETENCY 3, DELIVERING VALUE FOR MONEY:

  • Able to understand financial and performance information and maintain accurate and up to date records.
  • Identify and understand relevant legal and commercial terms, concepts, policies and processes (including project approvals and assurance procedures) to deliver agreed outcomes.
  • Able to identify risk of, or actual non-compliance with rules and suggest and take appropriate action.

COMPETENCY 4, MANAGING A QUALITY SERVICE:

  • Use procedures to monitor contracts to ensure deliverables are achieved.
  • Promote a culture that tackles fraud and deception, keeping others informed of outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake audits of projects, as part of a team or individually. Ensuring projects meet eligibility and compliance requirements set out in legislation/regulations.
  • Identify breaches of regulations and make appropriate recommendations, for example to recover funding.
  • Compile comprehensive reports setting out findings and recommendations for action. Reports are to be completed within 10 days of the visit and issued after quality assurance within 20 days.
  • Monitor and ensure that agreed actions are implemented.
  • Ensure that projects that are ending have resolved any outstanding audit actions.
  • Ensure that information is recorded accurately and on time using the standard management information systems.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Maintain frequent communications with stakeholders, including communicating difficult or unpopular decisions.
