UNIX Systems Administrator - Contract - London

UNIX System Administrator is sought by a global leader in Financial Services based here in the City of London. My client are seeking an experienced UNIX System Administrator who is proficient in supporting and administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Puppet and Veritas Cluster Servers (VCS) as well as SAN storage in a highly skilled UNIX Production support environment.

The UNIX System Administrator position will mainly be focused on production support and also project work which will involve on call and Saturday working. My client is looking for technically capable UNIX System Administrator who is experienced in the UNIX environments around storage and backups. They are presently in the middle of a Data Centre migration so a UNIX System Administrator with exposure to this previously would be particularly advantageous.

Due to the nature of this hire you will be joining a lean UNIX team offering excellent opportunity to advancement and exposure to challenging cutting edge technology.

Unix System Administrator profile required.

Essentials

Must have worked in a a large productions environment ideally Banking or Financial Services UNIX environments.

Must have strong experience with UNIX administration and also Red Hat enterprise skills

Ability to work in a on-call rota as well as working on Saturdays.

Strong automation skills utilising Puppet,

Adept in Veritas Cluster Server (VCS),

Excellent communication skills both written and spoken.

This is a contract on a 3 month rolling basis with competitive day rates including a good on-call rate.
