Senior Procurement Manager
Location: Titchfield
Duration: 6 months [initially]

EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY: This is an excellent new contract opportunity for a Senior Procurement Manager to work for one of Sopra Steria's leading Government clients on an initial six month assignment.
The Senior Procurement Manager will take a lead role in the planning and delivery of the main procurements for the 2021 Census. This will involve leading the procurement of a particular category, and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of a number of concurrent procurement actions, assisting with the management of procurement and commercial risks associated with each.

Responsibilities
Lead: Senior Programme Manager will lead other procurement staff, and take responsibility for the delivery of procurement activities across their category or series of procurements. The Senior Procurement Manager will also have a contribution to the development of the future contracts management team required to manage the delivery of the Census.

Engage: Senior Procurement Manager will engage with a wide range of differing internal and external stakeholders, taking on-board the advice and commentary provided, and responding by ensuring their continued involvement and support of the procurement activity is maintained.

Collaborate: Senior Procurement Manager will be expected to work in collaboration with the wider Census Transformation Programme and CLIENT's Shared Services Teams, and provide strategic and operational procurement support to the Programme.

Advise: Senior Procurement Manager will be required to provide current and relevant advice on the latest developments in public-sector procurement legislation and standards, and preparing guidance for relevant audiences associated with the Programme. This will require a strong understanding of how value-for-money is demonstrated throughout procurement, and an awareness of the potential for challenges and matters to arise at key stages of the procurement process.

Deliver to Time: Senior Procurement Manager will work with others to ensure that procurement activity is delivered within the agreed schedule constraints set down by the Programme, planning for the management and focus of those individuals that will assist with the procurement activity. This will require a good awareness of time available to the Senior Procurement Manager, and making sure that the overall momentum of the Programme is maintained at all times).

Desired experience
" Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS)
" Project Management (eg Prince2) qualification or equivalent experience
