Systems Engineer - Maritime and RN Training Systems
A Systems Engineer with Maritime and RN Training Systems experience is required to work on a twelve month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Portsmouth.
This is a 12 month contract with a leading UK defence business
Overview of the Systems Engineer contract role
Study and evolve the Sub-Surface Training Systems to support future capability, integration facilities and training initiatives.
Sub-Surface Trainers provides the Royal Navy with several purpose built facilities to provide shore based Operator Training for Submarines.
Key skills required for the Systems Engineer
- Knowledge and working understanding of the Systems Engineering Approach & Methodologies (SEAM).
- Understanding of complex maritime systems and their operation.
- Ability to investigate and develop engineering solutions for bid proposals.
- Ability to develop and integrate systems.
- Good awareness of emerging technologies
- Experience of Virtualisation would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Experience of RN Training Systems including Sub-Surface would be advantageous but is not essential.
The role is based in Portsmouth, Hampshire - commutable from Southampton, Cowes, Isle of Wight, Salisbury, Winchester, Andover, Basingstoke, Guildford, Aldershot, Crawley, Horsham, Brighton, Worthing, Chichester
