Description

A financial service are looking to hire an experienced Service Desk Analyst on an initial 3 month contract based in Guernsey.

Role purpose:
-To ensure all staff can access the necessary hardware and software in order to perform their job role.
-To provide IT first-line support to all users across the organisation.
-To build/update workstations, replace hardware and software as necessary and provide advice and assistance in order to keep the IT environment up to date and in accordance with bank requirements.
-To assist end users to use the firms IT platform effectively.

Key accountabilities
* Receive, log and resolve or escalate queries relating to all of the IT systems. Refer queries as necessary, but take responsibility for the problem, reporting back to the originator as necessary.
* Support the desktop environment to include installing software and hardware as necessary.
* Assist with routine security procedures including password resets, back-ups, house-keeping, software updates etc.
* Assist with the administration of the active-directory environment to ensure users can access all relevant data and software applications.
Assist with the implementation and management of small desktop projects.
* To deliver services within and support & operating framework
* To deliver services within and support the firms based process model, as to amended from time to time
* Accountable to deliver required Audit documentation for both Internal and External parties.

Technical skills

* Active Directory 2003 administration
* MS Windows (XP & 2000) operating systems
* MS Office , including Word, Excel, Outlook & Access.
* Must be able to read and understand IT documentation in order to implement/upgrade new and current technologies and resolve ongoing issues.
* Citrix administration
* Document management software
* Desktop hardware, including Compaq, Dell and IBM Workstations and Laptop
* Windows Terminal Server, Citrix Metaframe ver 1.8
* Market Data Service applications (Reuters, Bloomberg.)
* Application packaging skills (Win-install, SMS installer.)
* Voice Over IP knowledge. Cisco IP Phone Systems. Knowledge of Blackberries.
* Internet/Intranet systems plus HTML and Java applications.
* Helpdesk Call logging systems

Qualifications and industry experience

* Proven Experience in the IT industry with at least 2 years relevant experience in the Windows 2003 Server/Active Directory and Windows XP/Windows 7 Workstation environment
* Knowledge of ITIL
* Knowledge of finance industry processes and workflows
* Experience of working in a highly regulated environment (eg SOX) would be an advantage
* ITIL qualification would be advantageous
