IT SERVICES ENGINEER Windows/Unix/Linux

We are currently recruiting for our client, a Global Telecommunications Organisation for a Junior Field Operations Engineer to join their project in Hessen - Germany.

We are looking for up-and-coming graduates of Telecom Engineering or equivalent, willing to work on permanent basis, and receive an industry leading development program, to define their future career path.
Become the Site operations specialist who will exercises independent judgment and usually works under minimal supervision. Station point of contact for Network Operations Centers (NOC’s) and Field Operations key internal customers: Project Management, GFIM, Service Delivery and Service Assurance.
The basic purpose of the position is to maintain the day to day OA&M tasks associated with cable/telexchange stations. This includes: installation and testing of new network equipment, diagnosing and locating faults, provisioning new circuits, performance of daily routines to monitor network and equipment health, performing repair and maintenance and restoring service for optimal customer satisfaction.
Will provide on call support for all the sites and services under the site responsibility on a rotatory basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To perform the tasks for the operations and maintenance of the Cable/Telexchange station locations and daily activities as per SOP.
• Maintaining the Terrestrial and subsea DWDM platforms and various Telecom equipment and network circuits. To perform tasks and work on all infrastructure within site and support or maintain OLA repeater locations where applicable.
• Processing of new Circuit orders, ensuring the provision of new circuits are completed within the SLA.
• Ensuring Network Trouble Tickets are reacted and dealt with in a timely manner.
• Ensuring adequate sparing exists for the installed equipment.
• Implementation of transmission upgrades and on-site new builds.
• To perform the housekeeping of technical areas – Leased areas, & Colo Rooms.
• Maintaining various databases up to date.
• To ensure the Building and remote site Preventative Maintenance are completed in accordance with the maintenance schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES REQUIRED:
• Degree in telecommunications at university level or advanced technical college.
• Understanding and knowledge of Telecommunications Transmission Networks.
• English and German written and verbal.
• MS tools knowledge
• Basic Electrical skill.
• Eligibility to work in EU and full and clean car driving license.
• Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision
