Description

A market leading company based in the Reading area are seeking for x2 Senior Network and Security Engineer to join their operations team.

The contract will be for 6 Months and will be paying between £300 to £400 (dependant on experience).

The main requirements are:
  • Experience with planning, implementing and trouble-shooting network related problems in datacenter environment
  • Strong to expert working knowledge of Layer 2 protocols STP, RSTP, 802.1Q, EtherChannel, Flex Link, SPAN, VLAN, VTP, and Layer 1 technologies 10GigE,GigE, 10/100 Ethernet, T1, DS3, SONET.
  • Strong working knowledge of Networking Protocols/Services BGP, OSPF, IPSec, GRE, HSRP/VRRP, NAT/PAT, SNMP.
  • Experience with Network Switches, Routers, Firewalls, and Load Balancers is required.
  • Local to Wide Area network connections
  • Working knowledge in Internetworking protocols like HTTP, FTP, SMTP, DNS etc
  • Hands on networking experience in VMware environment


It is highly desirable to have:
  • Cisco switches and routers (6509, 7609, 3750, 26xx, 29xx, etc)
  • Juniper switches and routers (EX-, J4350, etc)
  • Foundry switches and routers (BigIron 8000, etc)
  • Extreme switches and routers (Summit router, Black diamond series, etc)
  • F5 Load Balancers
  • Cisco ACE Load balancers
  • Cisco ASA / PIX firewalls, or any other firewall platform
  • CCNA/CCNP/CCIE
  • Significant experience as a Network Engineer
  • University degree or equivalent experience
