Description

An Offshore Energy operator is looking for a Cables Quality (QA and QC) Engineer to focus on offshore and onshore cables for offshore windfarm works at their Cable Factory in South Korea. This Cables Quality Engineer will start an initial 6 months residential role in November/December this year and report to the Export & Array Cables Supply Manager. The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for providing quality surveillance and engineering support for the manufacturing of the export cables for the Offshore Wind farm project.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Support the Offshore Cables Supply Manager in all technical matters relating to the cable manufacturing process
  • Provide daily surveillance of the manufacturing process from raw materials/goods inwards through to FAT of the final cable lengths
  • Witnessing all Inspection, Test and Audit Plan (ITAP) steps
  • Ensuring all technical drawings and documentation are complete and correct within the Company document control system
  • Checking all acceptance criteria prior to inspections and review of all relevant record documentation after each step has been completed
  • Work in association with both Company inspectors and Contractor to ensure Project quality points are adhered to at all times
  • Reporting and recording of all non-conformance or deviations to ensure the product is delivered to specification
  • Monitoring, evaluation and responding to the Contractor's Technical Queries
  • Monitoring of deadlines and milestones
  • Technical support to the OFTO process with particular emphasis on the production of Final Documentation
  • Supporting the QA/QC Manager during preparation and implementation of the quality plan
  • Support to QA/QC Manager during the manufacturing phase of the Project
  • Support the Risk Manager in the identification and assessment of risks associated with the cables
  • Co-ordination and co-operation with Company Central Technical functions and other Electrical-related Company standards and initiatives
Key Skill Requirements:
  • High self-motivation.
  • Previous experience of offshore renewable project development and construction
  • Specific technical understanding offshore power cable construction
  • Technical competence and knowledge of the cable manufacturing process
  • Korean language with a full appreciation of the Korean work culture
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills

  • Excellent IT and presentation skills
