Contractor job descriptionCNET Magazine is searching for a fact checker and editorial assistant. This is a paid project lasting approximately three months. Though you can be located anywhere in the United States, you'll report to a CNET staff editors in San Francisco and London.
Duties/Role Responsibilities:
Thorough fact-checking of all CNET Magazine stories through interviews with sources, online research and consultation with writers
Assist editors with securing photos from vendors
Keep track of legal consent forms signed by parents of minors and by photographers
Experience:
Required Skills/Experience:
- One year of fact-checking experience with a print publication
- Passion for technology and internet culture and how they're changing the world
- Superior research and interviewing skills
- Detail-oriented, critically minded, naturally curious
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- BA/BS or equivalent experience
