One of our leading Renewable Energy clients is currently looking for a Deputy Commissioning Manager for an offshore wind farm asset in the UK.The Deputy Commissioning Manager role will be a direct report to the Commissioning Manager and deputise when necessary. This is a key delivery role in driving the onshore and offshore commissioning works in a challenging project environment.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Work alongside Package Managers and key supplier representatives to manage the Commissioning Activities for the HV Network and WTG's, driving the work packages forward to meet the project programme.
- Supporting the strategic planning of all onshore/offshore commissioning activities right the way through to Grid Code compliance testing.
- Assist the Commissioning Manager in training the seconded Operations and Maintenance Team to help deliver the key Commissioning milestones.
- Ensure Asset Integrity of the HV Network and WTG's during the Commissioning phase.
- Investigate and report on HV Network system events during the Commissioning phase.
- Support the Commissioning Team as Technical Authority on all aspects of Wind Farm Commissioning.
- Delivery of appropriate methodology and documentation for the Commissioning phase, including method statements, risk assessments, training plans, Commissioning Switching Programmes and Technical Reviews for Commissioning works.
- Planning and coordinating daily activities between Subcontractors and the project Commissioning Team.
- Deputise for the Commissioning Manager when required.
- Team management including the provision of very clear documentation and directions to Commissioning Engineers and Technicians.
- Programme Planning for Commissioning Works and Network Outages.
- Provide Technical support to Control Room Operators.
- Weekly/Monthly reporting on Progress and Issues.
- Liaise with Engineering and Quality Departments.
- Work Offshore when required.
- Proven Electrical Commissioning Lead/Deputy Commissioning Manager in a HV Substation/Cable/Wind Farm Environment.
- Recent HV Network Commissioning experience.
- Self-starting with the ability to see the Bigger Picture'.
- Proven track record in managing multi-disciplined teams to achieve programme deliverables.
- Understanding of HV Safety Rules, previous authorisation an advantage.
- Electrical Engineering degree/HNC is an advantage.
- All tickets required to work offshore-GWO Approved.
