Azure Cloud Specialist - Azure Cloud Transformation - 6 months - Durham
My Durham based client urgently seeks an Azure Cloud specialist for a 6 month contract starting ASAP.
Skills and experience required
Essential
-
Minimum of 2 years with Azure Cloud Services, ideally in a design and development role

Minimum of 1 year performing in an Azure Cloud Transformation role, with a focus on architecting, designing and implementing Azure solutions
-
Good understanding of Hybrid Cloud, specifically Interoperability, High Availability and Identity Management, including AD Domain Services, Backup, StorSimple and Azure Site Recovery
-
Familiarity of core Azure Services including Compute, Storage, Networking, Security and Management, Data Services and Analytics
-
Hands-on experience of the Azure Management Portal
-
Understanding of Microsoft technology stacks - Hyper-V, Windows, SharePoint, SQLServer, IIS, Active Directory, SCCM and SCOM
-
Knowledge of Microsoft technology roadmaps
-
Understanding of enterprise architectural principles and practice
-
Experience and track record of delivering to deadlines & able to work with others to deliver objectives

Comfortable and effective at communicating at all levels (senior management stakeholders - IS and business - through to IS developers and engineers)

Ability to operate on their own with minimal supervision for assigned tasks but also to work effectively alongside staff in other IS teams

Other Public Clouds such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform

Experience of Private Cloud Design and Provisioning

Familiarity of Hybrid Cloud Network and Interconnects, including private dedicated connections such as Microsoft ExpressRoute

Experience of outsourced Managed Services

Knowledge of Citrix XenServer and XenApp

Knowledge of VMware
-
Experience of cloud road-mapping and blueprinting

Experience of technology planning, budgeting and business alignment

Practical Governance, ie Quality Assurance of projects, technologies and solutions. Involvement in Architecture Review Boards/Steering Group, managing Governance Logs together with KPI outputs and Service Level measurement
