Embedded Developer
Location: Satellite rd, Suwanee
1 year Contract that can extend
We need a developer who can help out with the Embedded firmware development of our wireless interface IoT HVAC accessory device.
I'm looking for the best C developer I can find. By best', I mean the person who impresses the most during our live C-coding exam. Candidates should consider themselves C coding experts. (If they say they've done a bunch of Java work, and feel comfortable' with C, then they're likely not what I'd consider to be an expert.)
1-year contract, starting anytime between now and mid-March. Super-generic job description attached. Education level/degree is not a hard/fixed requirement.
Screening questions:
Which language are you most proficient in?
Name one difference between C and C++.
When is the last time you wrote code?
On average, how many hours each week do you spend writing code?
By when can you be prepared for a live coding exam?
Have you written software that's been deployed on an Embedded device?
Preferred process:

If good, on-site or webex coding interview (1 hr).

Produce maintainable, testable, extensible, clean, well-documented code according to system design
Maintain and publish new releases for existing software products
Develop time estimates for development tasks
Participate in code review
Use revision control and bug tracking systems
Experience
3 years equivalent experience C/C++ development
An understanding of software development methodologies
Detail oriented, highly organized, able to multi-task, and good interpersonal skills
Experience working with revision control systems, build systems, and working within a team environment
An understanding of network protocols
Bonus Skills
Experience developing customer-facing products.
Experience with Embedded design, implementation, debugging.
