Description

Hey artists! Thanks so much for checking out my job post!

I am an aspiring writer, coder, and musician who has written a nice slow paced story that I want to convert into a webcomic. It follows around the main character's interactions with his friends in life and hopefully with be a fairly warm and cute tale. I'm trying to make it very scenic and so will place some emphasis onto the artist's shoulders. Please let me know if you are up to the task! Hopefully we can become friends are really make something great!

Feel free to message me and have a great day!

Actual Details

Style:

Narrative webcomic

Many silhouettes and backgrounds. Not every page will have characters on it. Don't spend too much time on a single panel since the art can be minimal.

Trying to go very artistic with the style, lots of empty space and backgrounds to bring emphasis on when the characters are actually in scene. A perfect execution of this style can be seen here in Austin Holcomb's work: (nightphysics.tumblr.com/page/4) but I kind of want less detail and will be doing relatively smaller pages.

Characters:

Anthropomorphic

There's a fairly large cast but only 4 main characters that will be drawn a lot. The first two are primary, but the cast of 4 goes as follows: A donkey, moose, cat, and a shark. All character descriptions will be provided in detail for ease. Will commision sketches of these 4 if your application is accepted as the "final screening" step.

Nothing graphic will ever be drawn but must be comfortable drawing some male characters shirtless, character's hugging, or other similar casual scenes.

Writing:

Handled by myself

I value your input on the story and dialog but ultimately I will retain the final say.

Actual Page Content:

I want an artist whose vision of the story parallels mine nicely. All comic panels will be described in great detail but your vision will bring them to life. I will not be complaining or constantly asking for improvements beyond the first page or two. You can veto my critiques and I'll be totally cool with it.

Story:

Slice of life with slight romantic tension. Takes place in a college and all events and dialog either actually happened or are close to it.

Mostly just friends interacting and talking over food.

Frequency of Commission:

1 page every 1-2 weeks.

Please discuss your current work schedule with me and how much you are able to work on this as writing the story takes much less time for me to get done then making all the art.

Funding:

Currently our funding is fairly minimal, but you will for sure be compensated well.
Please let me know what you are expecting to be paid during application but we are expecting to pay around $100 for the first 6-10 pages.
