TITLE: DB2 Database Administrator (DBA)
LOCATION: Austin
POSITION TYPE: Contract - Initially 5 months
START DATE: ASAP
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with DB2 database versions 9.7, 10.1, and 10.5 - all versions must be visible in resume
- Must have High Availability, DB2 instance configuration, Sizing (Capacity) and administration.
- Experience in DB2 Purescale configuration and maintenance
- 5 years of experience working with HADR or other similar HA database solutions
- Knowledge of data modelling as it relates to physical and logical database design
- Database architecting and tuning experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and configure DB2 Purescale and data warehouse databases
- Administers development, installation and configuration of several product databases in a High Available solution using HADR
- Responsible for database performance tuning and architecture alignment
- Use knowledge of AIX, database security, backup and recovery, diagnosing/resolution of problems, systems monitoring, database performance tuning, managing and scheduling database changes
