Description

We are looking for 1x "Senior UX Designer" to start a 80 days contract (initial, extensions likely) consultancy for an internat.Org'-client in Rome.

Our client is an international organisation and a great reference in any CV! English speaking environment.

Period of assignment: Mid-May - Mid-December 2017 on retained contract for a total of 80 working days

Please note, the job is about 80 days and with a break in-between.

The deliverables for this specific contract will be split up into two phases, the first phase is expected to run from Mid May until mid of July and the second phase to be delivered after the soft launch of the project and within November until December 2017.

The selected consultant will be expected to join us in Rome for at least the first month of contract. Subsequently, in agreement with the hiring manager, he/she could have the possibility of completing the project from remote, depending on performance and overall progress. Please indicate the candidates' daily on-site and off-site rates.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Senior UX Designer

TASKS

Working in a team consisting of UX Designers, Visual Designers, Content Strategist/Copy Writer, Developers plus content developers and migrators, who will all form part of the collaborative design effort, you will provide the UX skills and experience to design a responsive and User-centric Intranet for the client, based in Rome, Italy.

You will help to provide a creative and robust solution that will meet client's internal communication needs, based on solid evidence from user research, and thorough understanding of the user groups within client.

To become part of the team you will have:

  • 5+ years in UX design and research processes and methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Expert knowledge of wireframe creation and prototyping
  • Expert knowledge of User research techniques
  • Understanding of accessibility compliance (WCAG) and apply it in the creation of UX documentation
  • Understanding of web technologies such as HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
  • Understanding of social media, responsive design, personalisation, search techniques and filtering and more
  • Mastered the tools that you will be using to create wireframes, prototypes and visual assets (we are completely agnostic in this regard, provided the final output is available in a commonly readable format)
  • Passion for UX - be aware of the latest design and UX trends, and be ready to create an innovative experience for Intranet users

Additionally, you will be ready to:

  • Work from a set of requirements based on user feedback
  • Do a complete content analysis to understand page types required and define the Information Architecture of the site in conjunction with the Content strategist
  • Map user journeys and user interaction
  • Create wireframes as required, and make modifications based on evidence from guerrilla, and formal testing (on and offline)
  • Create prototypes as required (ranging from paper to fully interactive)
  • Do user research, including running usability testing sessions to back up the team's theories
  • Prepare comprehensive UX documents (blueprints) for handover to developers, which will contain sufficient data relating to sizing and placement, typeface, colour, and interaction, to enable developers to build pixel perfect webpages, complete with SEO and WCAG related elements, and supporting metadata which you will provide in conjunction with Copy writer
  • Work in a diverse team of UX designers, Content strategist/copywriter, developers and content editors who will all contribute to the successful delivery of this Intranet Project!
  • Manage and prioritise your time and workload to meet project milestones and deadlines. This may include management of other team members.
  • Produce a style guide (UX patterns)
