The Systems Engineer will drive the design of our system architecture and actively prepare for new
technical implementations (hardware, platform, product deployments).
For Server Operations, support daytoday third level support (incidents, requests, change orders,
RCAs, etc)
Script the automation of regular tasks to help streamline operations and perform
data collection.
Develop methods of collection and reporting Participate in the
planning of future Z Series engineering services and infrastructure.
Determine solutions, setup project tasks/plans, and implement those solutions.
Design and implement DR solutions.
Responsibility:
Responsible for architectural design and development of hardware, software and product deployments
based on ZSeries
Analyzes systems and determines business requirements.
Ensures completeness and compatibility of the technical infrastructure to support system performance.
Keeps informed of new technology.
Point of contact with SW and HW vendors.
Qualifications:
IT Systems Engineer
Experience Required:
Minimum of 5 years as Z Series administrator
Skills & Languages (mandatories):
z/OS systems expert on some of below mainframe environments:
Hardware/ Network/ CICS & MQ/ DB2 & IMS
Ability to work independently, but also possess the ability to work on team oriented projects necessity
Good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills are required:
Advance z/OS SW and Z Series HW skills
Installation and maintenance of Software and OS. (OS upgrades, applications, PTFs, Firmware on
Power Systems)
HMC console management
Administration of Z/OS Series LPARs
Specific knowledge of z Series IBM Hardware
Ability to interact, develop, engineer, and communicate at the highest technical levels of organizational
decisionmaking.
Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
Able to work independently and well on a team.
TCP/IP Networking
Experience as a system engineer on z/OS systems or system programmer in production
environments
Very good knowledge of z/OS including JCL, JES, and file system
Clear interest in technical matters and problem solving
Selfstarter – able to work independently within a team
Proven track record providing internal or external support
Desire to work in a growing environment for a global organization
Ability to turn a problem into an opportunity
Excellent spoken & written English
