FREELANCE/CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY: Full Stack Python Software Developer/Architect English speaking Brussels, Belgium Initial 12 month contract € per day
One of my leading clients based in Brussels, Belgium require a Full Stack Python Software Developer/Architect to join them on-site for an initial 12 month contract.
My client aren't looking for a programmer only. We are looking for an architect, who programs as well 50% of the time, with other architects/programmers/mathematicians in the team and who will discuss the technical architecture with other architects in the team.
Technologies: Python, Linux, Cloud (AWS), Docker, Open Source EcoSystem.
Responsibilities:
- 50% technical design of the software source code architecture, analysis and documentation, for both projects (50-200 man-days) and large change requests, so as to divide the initial complexity in sub-problems, delegate these to programmers (including yourself) and lead these programmers,
- 50% programming, analysis and documentation,
- In collaboration with other members of our team (analysts, other architects, programmers, math experts).
Experience/skills required, from most important to less important:
- Motivated to excel in programming; attention to detail and correctness.
- Quality, correctness of algorithms and code
- Quality in technical design; modular architecture, flexible, readable; correct use of design patterns; communication of your architecture to programmers; leadership.
- Quality in programming; correctness of algorithms and code; code clarity & comments; code reusability; unit testing; collaboration and communication with colleagues.
- Strong knowledge of the Python programming language (preference for Python or Java under Linux), including the understanding of the low-level behind-the-scene operations performed by the language. For example, is this operation complex for the CPU? Does it consume a lot of memory? Is the variable passed by reference or by value?
- Knowledge of cloud software architecture is a plus
- General IT knowledge
- Working knowledge of English + ideally either Dutch or French
It would be nice if the successful candidate had a Master's Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent, with a strong preference for a Master Degree in Applied Sciences.
