Senior Engineer (Valves) - Shipbuilding

A Senior Engineer with Valves experience is required to work on a six-month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Scotstoun.

This is a 6-month contract working for a leading UK defence company.

Overview of the Senior Engineer (Valves) contract role

You will be involved in projects within fluid system design, calculations which include: pressure drops, pumps and pipe sizing, valve selection etc. modelling and document development such as: Technical Equipment Specifications, Design Disclosure Documents and Technical Reports. Must be able to respond to a fast moving environment and deliver to very challenging timescales. Working with suppliers on valve selection for any given system application (including but not limited to water, fuel & hydraulics up to 240bar and compressed air up to 300bar), material consideration, seal selection, actuation solutions etc.

Key skills required for the Senior Engineer (Valves)

  • Fluid system design exp
  • Valves exp on systems from bar
  • Modelling and document development exp
  • Shipbuilding experience would be an advantage

The role is based at Scotstoun in Glasgow - Commutable from Kilmarnock, Paisley, Greenock, Stirling and Falkirk with excellent access from Edinburgh.
