Speaking Dutch and French Application Engineer

Proteus Europe is searching for a speaking Dutch and French Application Engineer available to work in a long term project for one of our clients in Belgium

Your New role :-

APPLICATION ENGINEER
As Application Engineer, you are responsible for the inventory of existing applications and accepting, transitioning and manufacturing new application versions (- deployments- ) and - bug fixes- according to your procedures or established procedures. In addition, you monitor the application availability and performance, which you also report on, taking into account the current guidelines.
In that connection:
- Inventory of existing applications to another data center to determine an appropriate migration strategy.
- Are you involved in setting up and automating deployment procedures
- Make sure to set up monitoring for the applications.
- Also help you determine the application lifecycle management.
- Set yourself up for collecting (intensive contacts with application and system engineers, team leaders, ...), compile and keep up-to-date all relevant documentation (eg application design, manuals).

Your Skills and experience :-

Essential Skills :-

- You have a Bachelors degree in IT or equivalent through experience
- You are solution-oriented with strong analytical skills
- You have experience with application and preferably migration infrastructure
- You have a number of years of experience as an application engineer with relevant knowledge of:
- Web servers (IIS and Apache)
- Databases (Microsoft SQL, Oracle, MySQL)
- Application servers (Jboss, Tomcat)
- Websphere MQ (incl. EU)
- Monitoring and alerting principles and monitoring tools (Tivoli, Scom + Squared Up, Icinga, ...)
- Scripting (PowerShell, Ansible)
- XML
- You have sufficient knowledge of and experience with the operating systems below to determine a server resource scaling (including the amount of CPU, memory, disk space (free versus use)) in an efficient (automated / scripted) manner.
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012
- Linux (RHEL)
- Virtualization platforms Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware Vsphere
- You are able to obtain a global insight into an application landscape as well as document a detail configuration
- You are a communicative team player who can also work autonomously
- At least basic English
