Verified Studios is seeking an experienced Drupal and WordPress developer with design sensibilities and a unique understanding of the two content management systems. Our perfect candidate has a love for best practices, continually improving their craft and can teach us a thing or two. We're offering the chance to utilize these skills and the opportunity to work in a close-knit, small team environment high on personal responsibility and a desire to help our clients succeed.As a Fullstack Developer, you will work with the Verified Studios team to maintain and build new websites for higher education clients. A reliable and detail-oriented developer with a can-do attitude and the skills below will fit right in with our small but capable team.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Expert knowledge of both Drupal and WordPress CMS platforms Has built and maintained CMS based websites for clients, examples required.
- Has a solid design touch and understanding of modern web layout and content design Experience theming using best templating practices for both platforms Familiarity working with common Drupal modules such as Views, Context, Features, etc..
- Understanding of common WordPress plugins such as Advanced Custom Fields Understanding of strengths and weakness for Drupal/WordPress in regards to site building Advanced knowledge of HTML/CSS Experience with MySQL
- Ability to write queries and create custom views Expert understanding of PHP Expert
- Understanding of JavaScript and jQuery
- Experience with media queries and responsiveness for cross-browser and device compatibility
- Experience with Git or equivalent Familiarity with local environment development
- Understanding of managed hosting with Pantheon, Acquia, WP Engine, etc...
- Understanding of Sass/SCSS compiling using Grunt, Gulp, etc..
- Ability to write technical documentation Can work independently for stretches of time
- Ability to troubleshooting development environments locally and navigate issues related to a variety of client hosted environments.
- Familiarity with WCAG and Section 508 Accessibility Standards
Nice to Have but Not Required
Previous experience working within higher education Has developed decoupled Drupal/WordPress projects Experience building w/ JS libraries like React, Meteor, etc... UI/UX capabilities with portfolio samples
