Transport and Plant Supervisor

We are currently recruiting for our client, an International Telecommunications Organisation for a Transport and Plant Supervisor to join their project in Ireland. We offer a competitive and forward thinking environment where hard work will be adequately rewarded!

Position Title: Transport and Plant Supervisor

Responsibilities:
- Liaise with transport admin and ensure invoicing has been completed and ensure hire, fuel, other charges, telematics, repair/maintenance orders are raised on internal system for all costs.
- Check Driver Files are up to date addressing appropriately if not – Build & maintain Files for all drivers and all training records and Driving Licence kept on file keep for 2 Years.
- Maintain Operating Centres & Operator licence for your area – ensure compliance with Licence Operator regulations are met without fail. Reporting any non – compliance soonest to the Transport Manager.
- Ensure all Vehicles are sign written correctly with internal processes.
- Liaise with transport admin and ensure monthly reports are produced and distributed accordingly addressing appropriately if not.
- All legal requirements and Fleet requirements to be met on all owned/hired vehicles.
- Ensure drivers are aware of laws relating to driving hours and rest times/breaks (RTWTD).
- Ensure all vehicles over 3.5 ton adhere to the 6 weekly checks required by Operator licensing.
- Ensure all vehicles have motor insurance as required by Law.
- Ensure all drivers meet the legal requirements across NI.
- Ensure all accident and defect reporting for all fleet vehicles including any insurance claims.
- Responsible for the control of fuel cards and Driver Fobs also issuing vehicles through our in house system.
- Ensure all PAT testing records are up to date for owned & hired plant, addressing appropriately if not
- Ensure all External Hire plant/vehicle prices are reviewed periodically.
- Ensure all company owned Plant & transport is located, charged out and allocated to the correct person and contract on plant/transport modules.
- Ensure off hire numbers are requested and received for all external hire from all external hire companies, addressing appropriately if not.
- Ensure that plant orders are raised for matching to hire company invoices e.g. hire, repairs, damages etc. Plant orders will correspond to hired plant charged out to contracts.
- Ensure the Loss/Damaged and stolen plant/vehicle report is submitted on a monthly basis, addressing appropriately if not
- Ensure all company owned plant is issued as per Group plant process and procedures and reported via plant APP.
- Ensure all alerts on the system relating to regions are acted on immediately, addressing appropriately if not e.g. calibrations, tax, MOT’s, weekly checks, LOLAR checks etc.
- Ensure there is periodic review of all long term hire items and put to sale where cost effective.
- Ensure there is compliance with the Group Asset tracking system.
- Ensure there is calibration of equipment and it is maintained in line with current legislation. Also up to date with evidence that must be documented.
- Ensure there is transport & plant management on hand at all times.
- Ensure month end checklist and KPI’s submitted as per reporting deadlines.

Qualifications/Professional experiences Required:
- Proficient IT Microsoft and systems skills. Understanding of MIS / Telematics.
- Effective time management.
- Effective management skills through others.
- Team player with a flexible approach to work & hours of work.
- HGV driver licence.
- Flexibility in relation to working hours.
