Description
My client is a rapidly expanding E-commerce company based in Central London who are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to join there team being part of a team responsible for rolling out and supporting the next leg of my clients journey to Continuous Deployment.
This role will require you to work with and support a platform teams by carrying out tasks to help teams get changes to live smoothly and quickly to educate and improve their skills so that the team becomes more DevOps aware. The long term goal should be to make your role obsolete.
Skills and Experience
Technical
*Good understanding of database
*Good understanding of Continuous Integration technologies and approach eg TFS,
*Good understanding of configuration systems - preferred are Chef/DSC
*Strong Infrastructure background
*Strong Windows based skill set
*Good Scripting skills eg Powershell
*Strong experience of automated deployment tools eg Octopus Deploy
*Good understanding of Source Control systems eg Git, TFS, TeamCity
*Good level of cloud awareness eg vCloud/Azure
Non-Technical
*Good influencing skills
*Experience of working with ALM Improvement
*Experience of working in an Agile (preferably Scrum) environment
*Methodical in problem solving
*Good communication skills
