Description
We are urgently recruiting for a technical Support Engineer for a global IT company in The Hague.
Your tasks:
- Equipment installation (Cisco, Juniper, Fujitsu, HP, Ciena)
- Troubleshooting and network maintenance and planned work
- Standard circuit measurements (BERT) and specific fiber measurements (OTDR, OFI, PMD/CD etc.)
- Share knowledge and support other MOW field engineers when needed
- Managing external interfaces with Telehouse, 3rd party supplier and PTT's for provisioning and maintenance tasks
- Managing internal interfaces with SD (Service Delivery), PIMs (Project Implementation Manager), NRCs (Network Reliability Centers), GAM ( Global Access Management) and TP&E ( Technical Planning & Engineering)
Your skills:
- Knowledge of IP and Telecommunications standards
- 3yrs+ working in a data centre environment, including cable & server installation/maintenance
- Deep understanding of Wide Area Networking and Local Area Network (LAN)
- Wide knowledge of PTT/Carrier technologies and standards
- Knowledge of testing methodology and usage of test equipment
- Fundamental knowledge of cabling systems/adapters/interfaces and their handling
- Principles of electrical engineering
- Fluent Dutch and English, oral and written
- Car driver's license and active driver
- Strongly process and customer oriented with high quality result oriented approach
- Team player, well-organized and self-motivated person, flexible, capable to take initiatives and responsibilities.

- Availability to travel abroad when required
- Take part in the standby schedule for 7x24x365 support and out of office hours planned work
