Rapid Apllication Developer Rapid Application Developer - LondonMy client a leading energy trading company based in london is looking for a highly experienced RAD analyst/developer to work in the risk management & compliance environment. It will involve developing and supporting middle office applications and tools with MS Excel/Access, VBA, C#.Net, SQL and Sharepoint and working closely with the business users and other IT&S delivery teams. Responsibilities · Work closely with the business users to understand and clarify requirements.· Work closely with other RAD development team members.· Work with other developers, designers, architects, business analysts and testers.· Contribute to the overall implementation of tactical/RAD projects as part of the RAD team.· Undertake analysis of systems, business processes, data and interfaces.· Assist with establishing an effective environment for rapid application development.· Provide ad-hoc application support for the user-developed applications.· Provide application support for the applications under formal support arrangements. Deliverables · Deliver tactical solutions to risk & compliance business on an ad-hoc basis based in approved technology. Measured by weekly meeting with team and Development Manager. Tasks to be recorded, sized scheduled and tracked. · Make recommendations to solve business problems measured by feedback from key business users to Development Manager. · Collaborate with team members and business to design successful solutions. Measured by feedback from the business and team to Development Manager on a monthly basis. · Ensure that scope of tactical solutions & projects is kept to no more than 30 days worth of development work and items estimated at 5 or more days are brought to Development Manager's attention for prioritisation & scheduling. · Escalate and alert Development Manager of any major incidents encountered within 24 hours of incident. · Provide status reports to Development Manager on a weekly basis highlighted progress for individual and team · Record and track all development work in the appropriate systems.· Provide 3rd Line support on application portfolio to identify application problems within 24 hours of notification. Measured by weekly status report with Development Manager. · Ensure that application rollouts are coordinated and support teams are informed appropriately; including DBAs and Risk & Compliance teams. Measured by Quarterly meeting with Risk & Compliance teams and Development Manager. Experience & Knowledge · Extensive experience as analyst programmer using predominantly Microsoft technologies.· Must have exposure to development and support in a trading, risk & compliance environment; ideally with business knowledge in Commodity Trading.· Strong experience programming in VBA with MS-Office Excel and Access· Strong experience of development with SQL Server database· Good Experience with object oriented programming (C# and .NET with Visual Studio)· Programmatic use of real time and historical Market data systems including Reuters, Bloomberg, Futuresource, EnergyScope and PAWS.· Exposure to sharepoint development using sharepoint designer/visual studio.
