Job Overview:
As Java Developer you will work alongside a dedicated Development Team within a fast-moving and growing Technology function. The Technology group provides services through all areas of the software development lifecycle. The role involves working client-facing bespoke development projects as well as development of internal platforms and systems.
You will work alongside a team of developers to build websites with a range of technologies and for multiple clients therefore experience with both Waterfall and Agile software development frameworks would be advantageous. This is a client facing role and you will participate in the full product lifecycle, from design to deployment, to post launch phases including technical support and editorial and technical training. The main skills required for this role are Java / Java EE, Relational Databases such as MySQL and Web frameworks such as Spring.

This is a new contract position based in either Norwich, Norfolk or South London SE1, Monday - Friday working between 9:00am - 5:30pm. There will be an expectation to travel to other Williams Lea Tag sites as and when necessary. *Full job description available on request.
Required Experience:
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or higher in Computer Science or a related technology field and have several years' experience in Java technology and software development lifecycle.
You will be a strong problem solver with excellent attention to detail and have the ability to learn quickly and pick up new technology and product domains. You will have hands on experience in Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns and in designing and developing of applications using Java EE platforms. You will be highly skilled in Marklogic, Java / Java EE, Relational Databases such as MySQL and Web frameworks such as Spring. You will have exposure to the Spring Framework Modules like Spring MVC, Security, Integration, Web service and Data access and knowledge in REST web services alongside knowledge in test-driven development
Experience of Agile development methodologies or providing client facing support would be advantageous.
