Roc Search is currently recruiting for a number of GIS Technical Assistants to work for my client based in Warrington on an initial 6 month contract.
GIS Technical Assistant
We are looking for individuals to work in our team responsible for the development of our broad scale flood maps and derived datasets. The work will involve GIS, hydraulic modelling and the creation of bespoke data for our clients customers. The work will complement other areas of expertise in the fields of hydrology and flood risk management. The positions will involve work on projects, which are driven by demanding client deadlines.
Qualifications and experience
- We seek organised individuals with experience of ArcGIS, or a similar GIS package, and:
- good numerical and data analysis skills
- good written and verbal communication skills
- a professional approach with the ability to work independently and proactively as part of a team
- an enthusiasm to learn and adapt
- a further education qualification in a relevant subject such as geography or environmental science would be advantageous
- a background in hydrology or hydraulic mapping would be preferable.Training will be provided to undertake the role.
Type: Contract
Location: Warrington
Rate: £9/hr
Duration: 6 months initially
