Description
A Big Data Developer/Consultant with a strong understanding of Kafka is required to join a highly regarded Consulting Company on an initial 3 month contract based in Dublin (likely to extend to 6 months).
Role/Responsibilities:
- Cluster setups in Dev and IT environments.
- Install and configure Confluent Kafka Cluster
- Confluent Kafka Enterprise cluster including SSL for Encryption and Authentication SASL for Authentication, Authorization, and Migration to a Secure Cluster
- Monitoring and alerting: Key Kafka Metrics (Cluster, broker, topic, JVM, Disk, Memory), ZooKeeper and OS-Level Monitoring
- Kafka Backup and restore manual and through Control centre. Recovering from Broker Failure
- Interaction with customers to gather and analyze the technical requirements for existing production in a KAFKA environment
- KAFKA related architectural analysis, design and implementation phase for assigned project.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of KAFKA as a stand alone or in conjunction with BigData or NO SQL technology
- Experience in Kafka Cluster upgrade activity
- Good hands-on experience with Kafka Enterprise operations
- Knowledge of Key Kafka Metrics such as Cluster, broker, topic, JVM, Disk and Memory
- ZooKeeper and OS-Level Monitoring
- You will have experience of Kafka related analysis, design and implementation.
