Infrastructure Architect Technical Architect required with knowledge across full range of infrastructure platforms to carry out service analysis and discovery for the migration of key services to a newly commissioned datacentre.The Migration Programme will be a Tier 1 programme once fully mobilised - budget likely to be in excess of £100m with est. duration in excess of 2 years. Roles are required to work on the discovery and analysis of key services (technology, service, asset, migration approach, planning, costs, etc) and contribute to a first cut plan for migration of services in line with the agreed strategy for placement of production and disaster recovery services. Role Task is to review physical asset lists and existing service documentation, and consult service managers and subject matter experts for key services within the organisation to verify physical location of elements and the applications running on that infrastructure. The key requirement is to be able to quickly assess from a migration perspective what needs to be moved, any planned activities for the service, and therefore understand key issues arising - producing simple and clear data capture documentation as a result. Key Skills Essential: * Significant no. years technical experience at the appropriate level in large scale infrastructure projects.* Strong technical knowledge -covering all aspects of enterprise technology such as Windows, Unix, Midrange, Networks, Storage, applications, etc * Proven design / documentation skills * Proven business case development experience * Strong understanding of IT service management environment * Strong understanding of IT engineering lifecycle * Relevant technical qualifications (MCSE, CCNA, etc) * Proven analytical ability * Able to manage wide range of stakeholders * Able to work independently through complete project lifecycle * Strongly numerate * Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred: * Proven data centre migration experience / infrastructure and application transformation experience * ITIL qualifications / knowledge Deliverables : * Detailed asset / service inventory * Service / site Current State Assessments (CSA)'s * Information collation / validation / management reporting * Design documentation * Requirements elicitation / Design workshops / Design walk throughs * Identification & alignment of migration approach to strategic road maps / BAU processes * Technical cost estimation * Technical governance process For more information please send in your CV ASAP.Gehalt:
