Proteus Europe is searching for a Linux Infra Support Engineer for a 3 month+ contract role based in Zaventem, Belgium.Our Client :-
Our client is an international consultancy with a reputation for delivering on projects with their consultancy customers. You will join and be part of their team to ensure this current project is a complete success.
Your New role :-
Topic/content
- Engineering Linux workstations management
- Problem determination, incident Resolution, system support, coordination with vendor
- Support management of linux HPC clusters, cooperate with other sysadm
- Manage network aspects (DNS, DHCP, internet access,...)
- Configure from H/W to OS tuning all RandD linux W/S
- Manage patching of linux systems, including offline systems
- Support setup of RealTime linux OS (Redhawk) for driving simulator
- Support and educate users with no linux experience
- Monitor regular backup and troubleshoot in house scripts
Create long term environment management centralisation
- Support setup of a driving simulator based on real time OS
- Support setup of integrated engineering development environment: linux laptops, ofice workstations, in-car computers
- Setup patching environment, including workstations without internet connection
- Ensure linux environment match company security standards
- Collaborate with other technical teams and integrate linux workstations in AD domain
Your Skills and experience :-
Essential Skills :-
- Hands-on experience of advanced Linux (Redhat and Ubuntu families): install systems from scratch, configure LVM, network,... from CLI
- Practical knowledge of shared storage configuration (NFS, Samba, SAN,...)
- Experience of OS patching methodologies
- Able to setup and manage dual/triple booting workstations (Win 7, Linux)
- Knowledge of parallel file system (BeeGFS) and disk redundancy (DRDB)
- Fast learner, flexible to find creative solutions with many constraints, team player
- Hands-on knowledge of BASH scripting: able to understand existing script, update them and create new ones when needed
