Technical AML Manager

A Leading Financial Service are looking to hire an experienced Technical Anti Money Laundering (AML) Manager

About UK AML

UK AML is responsible for the verification of new and existing UK clients for Anti Money Laundering purposes. We service a range of clients and product types eg Corporate, Trusts, SIPP, Bond, Premier Cash, ShareNetwork, ISA, OEIC/UT and cash manager, either manually or via an automated process.

Purpose of your role:

To be the lead SME representing Retail Operations for all products in relation to AML verification.

The role covers a wide range of responsibilities:

  • Project Representation and Ownership,
  • Product Oversight,
  • Change Management,
  • Regulatory Change and Oversight,
  • Process Improvement and Implementation,
  • External Vendor Service Management
  • Working with Internal Key Stakeholders up to COO level.

The role also includes management reporting and presentations and may include people management with 1 or more direct reports.

Your skills and experience

The successful candidate has to possess strong technical ability, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to fast pace changing circumstances in order to ensure a smooth efficient operation. This challenging and hands on role would suit an individual looking to specialise in a technical, high profile area. Accuracy and a methodical approach are essential.

Essential skills

  • A detailed understanding of Anti-Money Laundering within a Financial Institution, having performed a previous role at a Manager/Technical Specialist level
  • Experience of large change projects and ownership/accountability for parts or all of the project
  • Experience of dealing with Senior Management and Directors up to COO level
  • Self motivated and results focused. Flexible, adaptable and responds effectively to changing business needs
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Effective problem solver and solution orientated
  • Excellent time management skills and be able to prioritise their workload especially at critical dealing points. Able to work to aggressive deadlines
  • A focus on the impact of transactions within the regulatory environment is vital
  • Ensure that daily performance is known by all, and that a continual process of improvement is in place
  • Develop staff to achieve business objectives and their individual potential, sharing knowledge, experience, training and providing assistance on referred issues
  • A team player at both Management & Team levels with a positive approach to change management
