Infrastructure Specialist Leading blue chip based in Cheshire requires an infrastructure specialist to join their Global Middleware Change Delivery team on an initial 3 month contract. You will be responsible for acting as a lead on a variety of projects.Role The role involves:· Review of solution designs from a middleware perspective· Ability to combine components and construct middleware solutions which form part of wider GISD solutions.· Working through a formal project life cycle model· Conduct technical walkthroughs with specialist component teams· Develop platform designs and implementation plans· Work closely with a variety of stakeholders at all levels e.g. project managers, technical peers, SME's· Familiarity with project plans and ability to review· Being proactive in resolving technical issues Key Skills The role demands an over-arching understand of the technologies below. It is not expected that a candidate will have knowledge of all of these but it is expected that their general purpose is understood and that a deeper knowledge in specific areas could be demonstrated.- Experience of working in large IT environments- Familiarity with multi tier IT architectures- Websphere Application Server (application hosting)- Tivoli Access Manager (authentication/authorisation)- Load Balancing- Unix/AIX- MQ/MQ Broker- Wily Monitoring (WAS and application monitoring and alerting)- DB2 Connect (strategic audit)- Connect Direct (file transfer)- Connectivity- Oracle Database- Tivoli Monitoring (other i/f component monitoring and alerting)- Windows- Mainframe Infrastructure- Citrix- Desktops- Abinicio ETL (extract, Transform, Load) For further information on this excellent opportunity please send in your CV ASAP.
