Description
We're seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer for a 12-month contract in Glasgow. This role is working on client site for a consultancy business with a growing presence in Scotland. The business is expanding into the Scottish market and has won a large digital project. As a result, they are looking for an experienced DevOps consultant to come in and work closely with development and infrastructure teams.
You'll need the following to be considered:
In-depth configuration management, automation and Scripting skills including use of a Scripting languages such as Python or Ruby, or proficiency with Shell Scripting (eg BASH); knowledge of platform and application automated deployment technologies (eg Cobbler, Puppet, Chef, Tivoli Provisioning Manager, Foreman); experience in Agile methodologies; excellent Linux/Unix system administration skills; an understanding of software and infrastructure architecture; good database knowledge and SQL skills; in depth knowledge of virtualisation platforms and finally some AWS or cloud experience.
