Pensions Technical Analyst

A Leading Financial Services firm are looking to hire an experienced Technical Pensions Analyst with specific experience around Protected Tax Free Cash and on-going Pension Rule and Regulations Changes.

Purpose of your role

The team is responsible for reviewing and processing retirement protections entitlements (PTFC, GMP etc.) for members of DC Full Service Schemes. The role is key to providing uncompromising service to our clients and members.

You will be responsible for:

  • Assuming full responsibility for effective and correct case management of retirees with pensions protections
  • Ensuring the team follow established procedures and legal requirements
  • Carrying out key tasks so that consistent and optimal customer outcomes are achieved for members and clients of the DC business.
  • Ensuring all allocated work is processed in a timely manner avoiding exposure to unnecessary risks.
  • Dealing with financial transactions, investigating case exceptions

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately approving financial transactions & calculations for Retirement
  • Quality checking Protected tax free cash and Guaranteed Minimum Pension calculations
  • Prioritise and check thoroughly the accuracy and completeness of all aspects of own work and the work of others.
  • Ensure Administration work is within the expected standards in productivity, quality and response times
  • Deal promptly and confidently with routine and non-routine enquiries by providing accurate information

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Prior experience in assessment of Protected Tax Free Cash and Guaranteed Minimum Pension entitlement (essential)
  • Minimum of 7 years pensions experience.
  • Investigations of application around Pension Rules (A-Day) -2006 onwards pension regulation changes
  • Defined Contributions knowledge, awareness of industry developments and changes in Pension Regulations desirable
  • Strong analytical skills with superior attention to detail (essential)
  • A desire to ensure each and every customer outcome is accurate and the best it can be
  • Flexible, adaptable and responds well to changing business needs
