Business Analyst/Data/BI/MI - Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse, South London, 6 months
Our client is undergoing aggressive transformation. The need has arose for an exceptional individual to join a programme with massive exposure to bleeding edge technology for an initial 6 months. Our client are looking for a Business Analyst with experience in working in complex Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse programmes.
Specific Assignment Requirements
- Has a rich background and strong understanding of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence.
- Has proven track record of analysing requirements for target business data capability and translating them into functional and non-functional requirements.
- Has previous experience of working on data platforms and Business Intelligence solutions that are built ground up by an organisation and not bought off the shelf. Looking for Business Analyst, who can take a holistic approach on requirements for a new business capability including post implementation competencies that organisation will require and IT support model that it needs to operate under.
- Experience in previously working in projects where development is outsourced offshore and as a business analyst you have worked closely to support development team in understanding requirement and analysis.
- Takes an analytical approach in first deconstructing a business process to understand performance reporting and data that drives business KPI's
- Excellent communicator who can interview business stakeholder at all management levels, tease out difficult data and reporting requirements.
- Work and collaborate with other business analysts to achieve a common goal & Translate business requirements into detailed system requirements and technical design specifications
- Translate business questions to data and analysis requirements; carry out data mining, analysis, visualisation and presentation.
- Collaborate with development and test managers to streamline and validate data sources to ensure consistency in the data used to support regular and ad hoc reporting and analysis
- Work with architects to translate requirements into technical specifications & Document requirements, Help identify and assess potential data sources
- Recommend appropriate scope of requirements and priorities and Validate that BI meets requirements and service level agreements.
- Coordinate prototype reviews & Gather prototype feedback

- Excellent communication and proactive ownership skills for engagement with external suppliers and stakeholders.
- Experienced Insight/Data/BI Analyst
- Advanced MS skills (Excel/Access/VBA/PowerPoint) is essential
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills including communications, time management and prioritisation skills
- Ability to understand business processes and commercial implications to make strategic recommendations
- Proven track record of locating, interpreting and analysing information to produce relevant insights
- Ability to communicate and network effectively with colleagues at all levels of the business is critical
- Ability to work independently, organise and prioritise own activities appropriately, whilst remaining flexible to meet unplanned needs as and when directed by the Project Delivery Manager
- Experience on Cloud based BI analytics solution.
- Nice to have experience on Datamodelling techniques and best practises
- Knowledge of Big Data, Data Warehouse Database solutions data systems, system architecture and data warehouses.
- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to create clear requirements and specification documentation
- Experience of requirements gathering for a data warehouse or similar data systems
- Exposure to data quality and data governance frameworks/protocols
- Proficiency with a variety of BI, reporting and visualization tools (such as SAP BO. Tableau)
- High proficiency with structuring strategic analysis using appropriate statistical modelling, research techniques and visual presentations to support points of view
