Procurement Manager Offset Delivery
Role
We are currently recruiting for a Procurement manager- Offset Delivery to lead our Industrial participation team in developing supply chain solutions in India. The post is to be based at our site in Barrow-In-Furness.
As the Procurement Manager for Offset delivery you will be managing a team of up to 10 procurement professionals and coordinating commodity requirements with the BAE Systems Procurement leadership in Business units across our sites in the USA, Europe and Australia.
Responsibilities
- Leading a team of Procurement Professionals to deliver on Programme and IBP Milestones and objectives for Global Combat Systems.
- Coordinate the implementation of an Offset solution that meets BAE Systems obligations to the Government of India, in connection with the M777 Howitzer, FMS sales.
- Promote India Sourcing throughout the wider BAE Systems community.
- Develop opportunities that support a business wide Category Management strategy.
- Support the development/implementation of Indian Offset Partner strategies that support current and future Land and Armament campaigns, including M777 future orders in India.
- Enhance spend analytics capability through effective deployment of BAE Systems Supplier Information Systems and derive intelligence on the aspects of company spending; such as top Suppliers, top spend Categories and opportunities for consolidation.
- Utilize spend analytics to drive savings opportunities in India, ultimately supporting company Offset obligations.
- Evolve an indigenous supply chain within India identifying capability and implementing Supplier development initiatives to meet Category Strategies established to deliver the lowest technically acceptable cost for each product.
Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate and integrate at all levels within the BAE Systems business and Suppliers Senior Leadership team.
- A broad understanding of developing sophisticated Category strategies in an aerospace/defence environment.
- Demonstrable experience in establishing offshore supply chains
- MCIPS accreditation is preferred
- Strong MS Office toolset skills
- Proven experience in a Leadership Role
- Thorough understanding of Lean techniques and continuous improvement to support supplier assessment and capability gap analysis leading to supplier development/improvement initiatives.
